Throwback Thursday

This is C and her Uncle Sid. It breaks my hear that she never got to fully know him like I was able to. He passed away due to cancer when she was 2 and she remembers he is her Uncle from the pictures we show her, but she doesn't remember him. She knows he is in Heaven and she misses him a lot. :(

Trust ME

Trust Me in the midst of a messy day. Your inner calm--your Peace in My Presence--need not be shaken by what is going on around you. Though you live in this temporal world, your innermost being is rooted and grounded in eternity. When you start to feel stressed, detach yourself from the disturbances around you. Instead of desperately striving to maintain order and control in your little world, relax and remember that circumstances cannot tough My Peace.

Seek My Face, and I will share My mind with you, opening your eyes to see things from My perspective. Do not let your heart be troubled, and do not be afraid. The Peace I give is sufficient for you.

John 16:33; Psalm 105:4; John 14:27

I am a little of both I believe. If I have a great leader, I will follow and rock what I do. If I am needed to lead, I can do that as well. I have no problem being a leader. I have had a few roles as the leader and I succeeded the roles as best as I could. So, I can do both!

Another special birthday...

Another special birthday to blog about in the month of August... today's birthday is my dear friend Brittany. I met her at church. I started working in children's ministry because of her and we did a bible study at church together and then I joined another bible study she was in... we because really good friends and she joined MOPS and enjoyed my last year of MOPS with her being in there with me.

I am super blessed that she is in my life and I am super thankful for this lady! I pray that God grants all your wishes this birthday! Love you lady!

Throwback Thursday

Heather and I grew up together since we were 2... we lived behind each other growing up. There was so much that we did together and one day we decided to bury a time capsule. We were young and we decided that when we were graduating high school we would dig it up the night before we graduated. So, we put all our stuff in this jar and buried it. It took us about 2 hours to find it. We knew the general area it was in, but wasn't sure exactly... so we dug and dug and dug... Mrs. Cindy was a trooper and stayed out with us the whole time taking pictures of us. We finally found it and opened it. we missed our other friend who buried it with us, but she moved a long time before this.

It was a fun experience and I was surely blessed to have a best friend since the age of 2. This woman has been through hell and back with me and we have been through amazing things and very deep dark things. Together we have come through and she is now my sister n law. I love her dearly and am extremely thankful for her!

I am a God who Heals

I am a God who heals. I heal broken bodies, broken minds, broken hearts, broken lives and broken relationships. My very Presence has immense healing powers. You cannot live close to Me without experiencing some degree of healing. However, it is also true that you have not because you ask not. You receive the healing that flows naturally from My Presence, whether you seek it or not. But there is more--much more--available to those who ask.

The first step in receiving healing is to live ever so close to Me. The benefits of this practice are too numerous to list. As you grow more and more intimate with Me, I reveal My will to you more directly. When the time is right, I prompt you to ask for healing of some brokenness in you or in another person. The healing may be instantaneous, or it may be a process. That is up to Me. Your part is to trust Me fully and to thank Me for the restoration that has begun.

I rarely heal all the brokenness in a person's life. Even My servant Paul was told, "My grace is sufficient for you," when he sought healing for the thorn in his flesh. Nonetheless, much healing is available to those whose lives are intimately interwoven with Mine. Ask, and you will receive.

My first concert that I ever went to was LeAnn Rimes and Bryan White. It was an amazing experience and it was great fun with great people!

Another concert that I went to was with Jeremy Camp and Newsboys. What a concert. I think this was the best concert of groups that I have ever been to! I absolutely LOVED it!

Another concert I went to was at the Puyallup Fair. It was Josh Turner, Little Big Town and another new country star at the time. I can't remember her name, but it was a great concert! I loved Josh Turner!

One of the most entertaining concerts I have ever been too was Lyndard Skyndard and ZZ Top. It definitely was a fun one to watch!

And my all time favorite concert I went to was Michael W. Smith for his Christmas concert with an orchestra. I love his voice and listening to the Christmas music it was amazing. Definitely would LOVE to go back and watch this concert again!

Throwback Thursday

This woman was such an amazing woman. She is my grandmother and she passed away in 2004. She was such a caring woman and she was loved by many. I learned some great recipes from her, but some I wish I could have learned before she passed. I tried to learn her angel food cake recipe, but her reply was get the box because it is so much easier. She always had great goodies ready for us to eat when we came over and she always welcomed anyone over. She had a beautiful heart and I am so thankful I go to call her MINE!

Come to Me

Come to Me when you are weak and weary. Rest snugly in My everlasting arms. I do not despise your weakness, My child. Actually, it draws Me closer to you because weakness stirs up My compassion--My yearning to help. Accept yourself in your weariness, knowing that I understand how difficult your journey has been.

Do not compare yourself with others who seem to skip along their life-paths with ease. Their journeys have been different from yours, and I have gifted them with abundant energy. I have gifted you with fragility, providing opportunities for your spirit to blossom in My Presence. Accept this gift as a sacred treasure: delicate, yet glowing with brilliant Light. Rather than struggling to disguise or deny your weakness, allow Me to bless you richly through it.

Birthday birthday birthday...

Happy birthday to one of the best grandmothers a girl could ever ask for. Our family was extremely blessed to have her as the head of our family... I loved her so much and miss her every day! She was beautiful on the inside and out.

Are you a Picky Eaters?

I have always been a picky eater. Growing up we didn't have a choice to what we got to eat. We ate what my momma cooked with no questions asked. I remember sitting at the kitchen table many times because I didn't want to eat a certain vegetable and I had to sit there until I ate it.

These days I get to decide what I eat and I have a big problem with vegetables. I try to eat as many as I can, but I am a huge picky eater!

And these days it doesn't help that my daughter is the same as me. With her, its not too hard to cook using the foods she doesn't like. She doesn't care for tomatoes, but I always manage to make spaghetti where she doesn't realize it is all in there. I also chop onions really small because she isn't a fan. I do try to limit these foods when she will be eating because I respect the fact that she doesn't like them, but in some dishes I make they will be there so she has to eat it.

My husband is allergic to mushrooms so that is an easy one for me. I never buy them because I do not care for them and with him being allergic they never come into our house. Its a win win there.

Do you have any foods that you don't care for? Are do you consider yourself to be a picky eater?

A day I will never forget...

On August 8th many many years ago, these 3 lovely ladies lost their mother to suicide. I remember so much about this day, but I am sure there are parts of this day that I have forgotten or have blocked.

Losing family to suicide is one of the hardest things I have ever had to go through. The many emotions that you deal with during this time and really for the rest of your life are very hard to explain. I can say that I will never know what it is like for these beautiful ladies who lost their momma or for my aunt who lost her daughter on that dreary day, but this date will forever stay with all of us.

If any of you knows someone who is having a hard time or has contemplated suicide, please give them the suicide hotline. It is a 24 hour hotline open 7 days a week and there are people there that can talk to them and try to help in any way they can. The number is 800-273-8255.

I miss my cousin so much it hurts! Love you forever Marla Faye!

Throwback Thursday

Today's throwback picture is for my lovely cousin Marla Faye. She passed away when I was a young teenager and she died to suicide. It was definitely life changing for all of our family. Such an emotional traumatic experience to go through as a teenager and definitely for my little cousins who were younger than I was when they lost their mom. She was an amazing person and I miss her so much!

Sit quietly in MY Presence

Sit quietly in My Presence while I bless you. Make your mind like a still pool of water, ready to receive whatever thoughts I drop into it. Rest in My sufficiency as you consider the challenges this day presents. Do not wear yourself out by worrying about whether you can cope with the pressures. Keep looking to Me and communicating with Me as we walk through this day together.

Take time to rest by the wayside, for I am not in a hurry. A leisurely pace accomplishes more than hurried striving. When you rush, you forget who you are and Whose you are. Remember that you are royalty in My kingdom.

Favorite Board Game/Card Game

I love playing all kinds of games. I am a huge fan of sitting down and just playing a game with anyone... At work my boss and I have an ongoing chess game going at all times. Once we are done, we start a new game. Its awesome.

My favorite board game would definitely be Backgammon. No one plays with me anymore so my board just sits in my house, but I love it!

My favorite card game is by far Canasta. I think its my favorite because when my mom and I played we always played with my aunts and watching them play was hilarious. Those ladies are awesome, but they are surely competitive and its awesome!

Do you have any board games or card games that are you favorite?

As I sit here laying in our new tent and on our new sleeping bags, I can't help but be thankful for my life and all the people in it.

I was hesitant to come camping overnight at Seafair, because your not suppose to camp out here... but I am thankful I came. We came with our friends... wait let me rephrase that.... we came with our FAMILY. These people have stepped up and became my family through thick and thin!!! I would literally be lost without them.

My little family are all sleeping next to me and all I hear are the waves crashing on the shore. It's a perfect distraction from life! It's a time to be thankful for all that you have and all that you have accomplished in your life. It's a perfect time for me to thank God for bring to this exact moment in my life.

So, today I am thankful for my little family. And I am thankful to these people that I call my family! Life would sure not be the same without them in my life.
