Quote of the Day!

No family is perfect… we argue, we fight. We even stop talking to each other at times, but in the end, family is family… the love will always be there!

Quote of the Day!

The love in our family grows strong
and deep leaving special moments
to treasure and keep.

Star Wars or Star Trek

Not going to lie... if I have to choose between the 2, I will always choose Star Wars....

I grew up watching Star Wars and have always loved that part of my childhood and now my husband has the same love and it is even more amazing now. Not to mention we get to share our love with the kids and that is so fun!

However, I never grew up watching Star Trek, but I do enjoy their new movies they have been making.

Quote of the Day!

Family is the best thing you could ever wish for. They are there for you during the ups and downs and love you no matter what.

Quote of the Day!

Family isn’t always blood. It’s the people in your life who want you in theirs; the ones who accept you for who you are. The ones who would do anything to see you smile and who love you no matter what.

Worst year of your life...

I think the worst year of my life so far has been the year my ex husband and I separated and began our divorce. All of my family were down in Louisiana and I was up here with one really awesome best friend and her family and that was it.

It was definitely the scariest year by far. I had to figure out how to make all the finances work by myself and making sure I could support my daughter and I on only my income. It was definitely a hard time, but it made me stronger and what an accomplishment right? I thrived knowing that I COULD take care of us without having help from anyone else. It was a struggle, don't get me wrong, but I did it myself... FOR her!

And it was tough losing a family in the meantime. They say that sometimes you can have a great relationship with the in-laws after you are divorced, but that was not the case in my situation. That was probably one of the hardest parts of the year was not having that relationship anymore. We still talk from time to time, but that relationship was never the same and it hurt for a while.

Life is surely full of ups and downs and this was a hard time for me but in the end it was the best choice for me. Our life right now is pretty amazing for both myself and my ex-husband. We are both remarried to wonderful people and we all get along for the most part and realize that its about the kids... It also has taken me time to forgive others during that year as well as forgive myself. God, works in mysterious ways!

Throwback Thursday

17 years ago we lost this wonderful soul on March 15th. A day does not go by that I don't think of her.

Quote of the Day

Family:

They drive you crazy.
They drive you nuts.
They drive you loony.

THEY DRIVE YOU!

Organ Donor?

Are you an organ donor? And if so, do you carry a special card with you at all times?

Here in Washington state we have a heart on our drivers license if we are organ donors. So, my drivers license has a heart on it because I am a donor. To me there is no better way to leave this world (I mean except going to Heaven) than to be able to help others who could use your organs. If I could save up to 9 people after I pass away, what a legacy to leave behind, right?

Throwback Thursday

Today's throwback is to this kiddo. 3 days ago she turned 8 and boy is she more special to me each passing day. This was taken in 2012 when we went home to visit the family. 4 years ago seems like so long ago.

A time you were frightened?

The one time that I can remember where I was really frightened was the day that I spent the night at my cousin's house and a small batch of tornado's hit...

They lived in a trailer at the time and all of a sudden the electricity went out and I went in her bedroom and then the trailer started shaking. We all went into the bathroom. My little cousin was a baby and he was in her arms and I was right next to her and then her husband was by the door. It was the most scary time in my life. It felt like the trailer shook for hours, but it was only minutes.

Let's just say that I was hesitant to stay at the trailer after that moment.

Throwback Thursday

Happy birthday to my dear cousin Trena who died of suicide when she was 16 years old. She would have been 33 today... I often think about how her life would have turned out and how many kids she would have no if she were still alive. I miss her so much!
